Ingredients

Crust:

  • cups all- purpose flour
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, plus 1 tablespoon for spreading

  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup cold water

Filling and Topping

  • 15 plums, pitted and quartered
  • cup light or dark brown sugar, plus more for sprinkling
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ Tbsp Cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

Crust

  • In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, and butter until the mixture resembles coarse pea-sized crumbs. Alternatively, use a food processor.
  • Add the cold water and mix until a soft dough forms. Add more water if needed.
  • Knead the dough until soft and non-sticky. Shape into a ball, wrap with baking paper, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Filling and Topping:

  • In a medium bowl, combine the cinnamon, brown sugar, and plums. Stir well and set aside.

Arrange the tart:

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a tart pan with butter.
  • On a parchment paper, roll the dough into a circle about 12 inches in diameter, slightly larger than your tart tin.
  • Flip the dough onto the tart tin, then press it into the tin. Remove excess dough.
  • Poke holes into the tart crust using a fork.
  • Spread the prunes evenly over the crust.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  • Allow to cool before serving. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
