Ingredients
  

  • 12 ounces evaporated milk
  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Roughly chop the bittersweet chocolate and set it aside.
  • Place a medium saucepan over medium heat and add the evaporated milk and chopped chocolate. Begin whisking gently as the chocolate starts to melt.
  • Add the cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt, whisking until fully incorporated.
  • Allow the hot chocolate to gently simmer for 8-10 minutes, whisking occasionally to ensure a smooth consistency.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly to your preferred temperature. Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream or marshmallows, and enjoy.
