- Prep the Apples: Peel and halve the apples horizontally, then core them.
- Slice into rings: slice aiming for 4–5 rings per apple.
- Heat the Oil: Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat until it reaches frying temperature.
- Fry the Rings: Dip each apple ring into the batter, letting the excess drip off. Place in hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Tips & Tricks
- Choose Firm Apples: Firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp hold up best when fried and offer a nice balance of tartness with a sweet coating.
- Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: Fry a few rings at a time to keep the oil hot and ensure even cooking.
- Keep Batter Smooth: Stir the batter just until combined for a light, crispy coating.
Storage Advice
At Room Temperature: These rings are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to a day. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to bring back their crispiness.
Freezing: Freeze the fried, uncoated apple rings in a single layer on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven until hot, then coat with cinnamon sugar before serving.

Variations
- Vanilla Batter: Add a splash of vanilla extract to the batter for a hint of extra sweetness.
- Caramel Drizzle: Serve with a drizzle of caramel sauce for an added touch of decadence.
- Nutty Topping: Sprinkle chopped nuts over the rings after coating them with cinnamon sugar for added crunch.
